Review: DSG Nero Jacket by Vignesh Kumar

DSG Nero

Weeks of contemplation, survey and running around to check out dealers and then I finally shortlisted the DSG Nero and the Maze. While the Maze was mirror cracking on the eye candy scale, its essentially a mesh jacket, it lost the race against the Nero for my purpose for all weather touring.

Nero is 100%waterproof,as it said on the description and there are vent flaps for summer riding. After the debut trial ride of about 400 km,the jacket lived up to its promise. After removing the liner and opening the flaps it was quite comfortable despite the sun.Though you could feel the brunt at signal stops it was an acceptable compromise for safety.

The armor is good quality and fit and position is perfect. The best thing about the jacket purchase was the prompt service i got with a single call to DSG pune,I had asked for XL but then they had suggested L after inquiring my shirt size and its a perfect fit now.XL would’ve been lose around the waist and also the armor would’ve moved a little lower than my shoulders.

The styling is good and over all its a very good buy.Front and back have got foam pads.It would be better if for the back, CE amour can be provided at least as an accessory.Combined with the DSG carbon gloves, this jacket is completely sealed from weather and is perfect for touring.

……Saving up for the Maze now for the perfect summer jacket.
